Coal is not just energy

By processing bituminous coal, essential products for the chemical industry are obtained: coke, fuel gases, benzene, coal tar and several others. It is also a raw material used in the production of medicines and cosmetics (coal distillation), pesticides, fertilisers, dyes for fabrics, fragrances, explosives, as well as ornaments and jewellery products.
